The Tailevu Naitasiri Women’s football side was thrashed by Mai Life Magazine Ba 16-1 in the Digicel Women’s Super-Six encounter at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa last Saturday.
Striker Cema Nasau scored five goals, Koleta Likuculacula scored a hat trick, Aliza Hussein and Fulori Sukulu scored two goals each while Alesi Qereqere Tabua, Cecila Nainima, Luisa Tamanitoakula and Angeline Rekha scored a goal each in the game.
Adi Bakaniceva scored the lone goal for Tailevu Naitasiri.
Ba coach Charlene Lockington congratulated Tailevu Naitasiri for scoring a goal against them.
“Well Tailevu Naitasiri is the only team that has scored goals against in both matches and congratulate them,” said Lockington.
“They played well with some very young players,”
Tailevu Naitasiri coach Elvis Goundar said the better team won.
“Ba is an experienced side with so many national reps but we scored against them which is something positive,”
“We had so many senior players missing in the match but I thank the girls for new players for coming up today (Saturday) and showing their game,”
Goundar said they have been facing some difficulties in getting all the players in training.
“Some of my players are staying far in the village and are unable to train but I think this result is an eye-opener for us so we will go back and talk and will try to come out more organised and prepared for our next game,”
