The MaiLife Ba Women’s team has taken the lead in the Digicel Women’s Super League (WSL) after a thrashing 15-0 victory over Nadroga Women’s at Churchill Park on Sunday.
Captain Luisa Tamanitoakula continued her goal-scoring rhythm as she netted a total of five goals, taking her tally to nine goals this season.
Koleta Likuculacula, Evivi Buka and Narieta Leba scored a hat-trick each while Kalesi Suinibonu scored an own goal for Nadroga.
In the other matches played over the weekend, the MaiLife Labasa Women’s side recorded an impressive 7-0 victory over Tailevu Naitasiri while Rewa Women edged Suva 1-0 at Uprising Sports Center in Navua.
On the points table, the competition is stiff between the Women in Black who leads the table with nine points, Rewa Women sitting on second spot being edged out by Ba with a better goal difference and Labasa Women on the third spot with six points.
Nadroga is on the fourth position with three points in bag.
Suva and Tailevu Naitasiri is on fifth and sixth spot respectively, as they are yet to register a point in the WSL.
