The Ba football side is putting its 0-1 defeat behind against Suva in the final pool play of the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants Tournament at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Ba manager Ranvir Singh said the loss to Suva was a wake-up call for them.
“We won 7-3 against Nasinu and held Labasa 1-1 but our defeat against Suva is a wakeup call, “said Singh
He said they had a week to prepare and iron out the mistakes, things should improve and get better for the Men in Black.
“We wanted to qualify for the semifinals with an unbeaten record but the loss to Suva has somewhat affected our aim. But at the same time the loss comes as a wake-up call and we have to pull up our socks and prepare better.”
“We have one top player suspended while few others are carrying injuries. We hope to get things organised during the week and our coach will be preparing a game plan for the semifinal match.”
Singh said they will not ride high on the past success of the team and will just keep a low profile.
“We know Ba has won the BOG the most number of times. While we will be aiming to win our 19th title, we will not put ourselves under pressure and will just play according to our game plan,” he added.
