BA starts on high note

The Ba women’s football side started its title defense in the Digicel Women’s Super League on a high note thumping Suva 8-0 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on Sunday.

The Women-in-Black despite missing some key players in the game outclassed an experience Suva side.

Captain Luisa Tamanitoakula broke the deadlock with a powerful shot from outside the penalty box in the seventh minute.

Nippy striker Narieta Leba scored one of her hat tricks in the 36th minute to give Ba a 2-0 lead.

In the 42nd Leba got her double and took both teams to the breather with the Women-in- Black with a 3-0 advantage.

Ba proved to be a more dominant side, as they took control of the game with their young brigadiers.

After a dominating 3-nil lead in the first half, Ba continued with this momentum in the next half of the game.

Just minutes into the second half Aliza Hussein found the net making it 4-0. Tamanitoakula further extended Ba’s lead in the 53rd minute.

Three minutes later Leba got her hat trick beating the Suva defense while Hussein got her double in the 60th minute.
