Ba ends VPL unbeaten

The Ba football side finished the Vodafone Premier Leageu (VPL) in style after being unbeaten throughout the competition.

The Ronil Kumar and Shalen Lal-coached side topped the league with 36 points after recording 11 wins and three draws out of 14 games played.

In its last match of the Vodafone Premier League 2019, Ba registered yet another impressive 3-0 win over neighbours Lautoka at the Fiji FA Academy ground in Ba last Saturday.

Coach Lal said they ended the national league on a high note.

“This season, we had tried to give break to young players and the senior players played a vital role to make this happen.

“Both young and senior players gelled well and I could see the seniors were guiding the young ones all the time,” he said.

He said their focus had already shifted to the upcoming Courts Inter-District Championship in Nadi next month.

“Our focus has already shifted to IDC as we have a tough pool with the likes of Lautoka, Labasa and Tavua.”
