Suva FA president Mahend Prasad after administrating the capital side success last season and years of hard work finally paid off when he was awarded with the Administrator of the Year Award in the Super Premier category.
Prasad’s children received the award on behalf of the recipients as the Suva team was away participating in a Girmit tournament in Australia.
Suva defender Samuela Vula walked away with the Footballer of the Year Award after been named the player of the tournament in the Vodafone Fiji FACT and Courts IDC last season.
Former national coach Gurjit Singh after winning Coach of the Year Award in 2009 for Navua has won the most prestigious award but this time it was for the Suva side.
Suva team were also rewarded with the Team of the Year Award after a good outing last year in the domestic season.
Suva won the Vodafone Fiji FACT and Courts IDC last season. They also finished second overall in the Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League.
Lautoka’s Zibraaz Sahib was voted the Popular Player of the Year Award while Madhavan Gounder of Tailevu Naitasiri was given the Fair Play Award.
In the other category of awards, Rusiate Matererega walked with the Junior Footballer of the Year award in style. Ravinesh Kumar was given the Referee of the Year Award.
Indra Singh of FBC won the Media Personnel of the Year Award while Women’s Footballer of the Year went to Sofi Diyalowai of Labasa.
Shaneel Goundar of Rakiraki scooped the administrator of the year award in premier division.
Fiji FA President’s award went to the National Football Academy staff Ajay Kumar for his services and contribution.
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel thanked the OneWorld Flight Centre for coming on board sponsoring the Fiji FA awards night and promises it will be bigger and better come next year.
