Five teams that are Taveuni, Bua, Seaqaqa, Dreketi and Nadogo will be vying for the Northern champion crown which is currently held by Dreketi.
The winner of the playoffs will be play against the Viti Levu premier division champion in a home and away series for a place in the promotion/relegation series against the bottom placed Super Premier division side.
Jainendra Sukhu, the Fiji Football Association competitions manager elaborated on the competition format.
“The five participating teams will play each other and the team in the end with the highest number points will be declared the Northern champion. All matches will be played 60 minutes and each team play two matches a day,” Sukhu said.
“Fiji FA would like to urge the Northern football fans to come out in numbers and support the premier division this weekend. This is a chance for these Northern based players to showcase their talent and prove their worth.
During the two day premier division playoffs three U21 sides that of Labasa, Savusavu and Nadogo will also be participating in their respective age group competition.
Opening match kicks of 9am this Saturday between Taveuni and Bua at Subrail Park.
Entry is $2 Flatrate per day
