Relieved of his duties few seasons ago, Buzzetti says he is happy to be back and continue from where he left off.
“I’m happy to be back as now I have the opportunity to finish the job I was not able to. The idea is to get Fiji back on top as when I left we were 101 but that is now it is 158. So the aim to build up for the future not only that we will be looking to have more qualified local coaches,” Buzzetti said.
On the other hand the former national Vanuatu coach believes that we must utlise our team well as a lot of international commitments is lined up in the new season.
The widely followed senior men’s World Cup stage 2 qualifiers which will be hosted by Fiji is sure to gain a lot of interest amongest the diehard footballs here.
“With the senior men’s side we have six months to prepare a side. It is important to check player’s fitness, if new ones are available or if there are capable ones in the Olympic team.
“Fiji is in a very tough pool with New Zealand, Solomon’s and Papua New Guinea but it is a must that we are one of the top two qualifiers from this pool and qualify for stage 3,” he said.
Buzzetti coached the national senior men’s side to a 2-0 victory over NZ back in 2008.
