Nadi edge U23

This was only Nadi’s second victory in the league season but is set to boost their campaign as they look ahead to the 2011 Vodafone Fiji FACT which will be held from June 9-13 at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
In last night’s clash all the three goals in the match were scored in the first half. It was Mohammed Shameem who opened the scoring just nine minutes in the first spell.
The Western U23 equalised minutes later through Jone Salauneune but Christopher Kumar regained the lead for Nadi few minutes before the break.
Fiji Football Association has fielded three zonal U23 sides in the National League as part of their preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games playoffs.
Meanwhile the National Football League continues this Sunday when Skipper Tuna Southern Forest Navua hosts Energizer 4R Electrical Ba 3pm at the TFL National Stadium in Suva.
Two matches will be played in the Fiji Sun/Weet-Bix National Premier division football league on Sunday sees Royal Tea Tailevu North battle Eveready Tailevu Naitasiri at Gatward Park 1pm and later at Nasau Park Skipper Levuka takes on Angel Gold Lami at 2pm.
