Defending champion Rewa played to a 1-1 draw against Nadi earlier tonight to kill their slim hopes of making it to the playoffs to defend their title.
Just one point from three outings Rewa will play their last match against Savusavu on Saturday. Suva, Lautoka and Nadi are in the running for the two spots from pool two.
Suva beat Lautoka 2-1 to top the respective pool with seven points. Lautoka is second with 6 while Nadi is third with 5. Nadi and Lautoka play in one of the feature match on Saturday with Lautoka only needing a draw to qualify. Nadi needs to beat Lautoka and a win for Suva over Savusavu will see them top pool two.
Pool One remains wide open as Tavua, Ba , Labasa and Nadroga remain in the hunt. Navua lost two matches yesterday and will no doubt bow out of the race.
Ba beat Labasa 4-0 to edge closer to a berth in the semifinals. The homeside struck four times in the second half.
Ba is with 7 points now, second is Nadroga with 6, Tavua is with 4 while Labasa and Navua are with 1.
Ba only needs a draw with Tavua, Nadroga needs a win over Labasa to qualify but a draw could put them in provided Ba beats Tavua.
