Defending champs focused

Lawrence Nath, the Rewa team manager said the squad has been working overtime under the guidance of player/coach Marika Rodu. #He said they were out to make a positive start to the new season and bury the past behind in which they lost their Courts Inter District Championship title towards the end of the last season. #“Rewa was no doubt a good side at the Courts IDC but few unexpected results and we could not qualify for the playoffs. A new season awaits us with the players and team management focused on making a positive start to the year.#“Being the defending champions and playing at home we are taking the Champions League seriously and the players are also putting in a lot of effort,” Nath said. #Nigerian import Sanni Issa and top gun Niumaia Tagi are the only notable exclusion from the Rewa outfit to feature in the Pillay Garment Champions League. #Tagi has been opted for his release to join forces with the Men in Black Ba side while Issa is away in Nigeria. #Nath said the depth in the squad provided enough cover to field a strong side. #“There are a lot of capable players in the current Rewa squad and we will also be opting for some young talent from our clubs. Rewa will be fielding a mixture of experienced players with few new talents which we are hoping will do the job for us.” #On the other hand Rewa is also seeking the services of Tailevu Naitasiri striker Ratu Luke Lomasalato. #Fiji FA MEDIA # #
