Bob Kumar the Fiji FA chief executive officer confirmed that the playoffs will be held from May 13-20th at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.#Fiji has successfully hosted the OFC Futsal events for the past three years which included the 2008 Futsal World Cup playoffs, 2009 and 2010 regional meet.#Kumar says the credit must go to the futsal fans in Fiji who have always turned out in numbers to make the event a success in the country. #“I’m proud to say that Fiji will host the 2011 Futsal World Cup playoffs. Few other countries were in the picture to host the event but in the end Fiji was chosen as an ideal venue,” Kumar said.#“I believe the credit must go the futsal fans here in Fiji who have always come out in numbers to make this event a successful one and we hope for a similar support this time around.”#The Fiji FA CEO says at this moment of time the participating teams nor the format has been confirmed yet as OFC was still working on the various logistics before details are released.#The National side would look to make full use of the home turf advantage to win the playoffs for the first time in their country.#Solomon Islands have had a edge over the other participating teams in the recent years but only time will tell of the outcome this year. The winner of the 2011 OFC Futsal World Cup playoffs will go on to represent the Oceania region in the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Thailand.#Fiji finished behind the Solomon’s during the 2010 OFC Futsal championship at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.# Fiji FA MEDIA#
