Khan who recently guided the national side at the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Futsal Championship was part of the historic Suva side which won the Fiji FACT title back in 1995. The capital side on that occasion beat Labasa 4-0.
“I think fitness will be a vital factor for the participating teams at the Fiji FACT. It is going to be hard to play a five day tournament with some even playing two matches a day. The heat in Lautoka is another factor and I believe it will come down to the fitness of the teams.
“If players are unfit they will not be able to cope up and sometimes lose their discipline as a result of this,” Khan said.
The former Suva rep also has a timely message for the young players at the Vodafone Fiji FACT looking to stamp their mark.
“My advice to the young players is to dream big, believe in yourself and work hard to achieve. This is the stage to perform and showcase your talent. Without setting a goal one would just be participating.”
