Vakatalesau scores on Debut

Vakatalesau scored through a penalty kick and later setup one to assist in the MRDC sponsored Hekari club’s 4-2 victory over Besta United.#The National team striker earlier this week was cleared to feature for the PNG based club who are Oceania’s representative at the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup UAE which takes place in Abu Dhabi from December 8 to 14. The pacific islanders are in action on the first day against hosts Al Wahda.#In an interview with Henry Morabang of Hekari Club Media the prized signing striker thanked Hekari team management for being given the opportunity to be part of the island outfit and tackle the best professional players from around the continent at the FIFA Club World Cup. #“I have been here for the last three months, and taking the field and scoring the first goal for the club is a great feeling for me,” Vakatalesau said.#“I will make the best out of the trip for Hekari and off-course as a Fijian, I will do my utmost best to perform to the best of my ability during the Club championship in Abu Dhabi,” he said.#Vakatalesau is one of the six Fijians in the Hekari team. The other players are Malakai Tiwa, Alvin Singh, Tuimasi Manuca, Simione Tamanisau and Pita Bolaitoga #Hekari United franchise owner John Kapi Natto says Vakatalesau is raring to go after being side lined for the past three months, awaiting clearance. #“He can’t wait to take the field,” the elated franchise owner said.#Natto thanked Fiji Football Association, Lautoka FC and Oceania Football Confederation for reaching an amicable arrangement to have the lethal striker released for the NSL, O-League and the FIFA Club World Cup match.#
