This was revealed by their managing director Mohammed Shariff at the presentation of the 2010 Shariff Investments women’s IDC final last Sunday.#Shariff states that he has been quite impressed with the standard of women’s football over the weekend and believes there is a chance for Fiji to further progress in the women’s code.#“I’m impressed with what I have seen during the womens IDC. It is indeed a testimony that development is talking place and we are headed in the right direction in womens football under the guidance of Dr. Shams-UD-Dean Sahu Khan.#“It is a testimony that we are not very far from achieving something and I would like to thank the Fiji Football development team. Shariff Investments has decided to continue with the sponsorship as we are pleased to be engaged with something that indeed has a bright future,” Shariff said.#Suva beat Labasa 1-0 in the 2010 womens IDC final to be crowned the new champions, dethroning defending champions Ba who were not able to qualify for the playoffs.#Suva took home hefty prize money of $2000-00 while Shariff picked Suva right back Evelyn Kumar as the player of the final and rewarded her with an added $100-00 bonus from his own pocket.#“Watching the final I was impressed with Evelyn and she deserves all the credit. There are some very talented players in the womens code and Shariff Investments intends to throw in some incentives like scholarships and other benefits.#“Recent negative comments in the media are not true.
