Savusavu held Nasinu 0-0 this afternoon at the TFL National Stadium during the second leg of the promotion/relegation series in Suva.#The Northern based side entered the match with an advantage following the 1-0 victory over Nasinu last weekend at Subrail Park in the first leg. Needing just a draw to scoop the series and be promoted, Savusavu did just that. #Two northern based sides will now feature in the super premier division which includes Labasa and Savusavu who now get a chance to tussle with giants like Ba, Lautoka and Rewa in the Super Premier division. #Savusavu President Jabid Hussein was lost of words following the promotion. #“It is a very special day for us. As President it was my aim to see Savusavu promoted to the Super Premier division and we did it today. Of course now football will reach new heights in Savusavu. #“It won’t be easy playing in the Super Premier division but we will have new players coming along and joining us. We will give our best to be recognized,” Hussein said. #Earlier today in front of a reasonable crowd Nasinu came out firing from the first whistle. Nasinu charge led by Maciu Tuilau made numerous attacks but Savusavu goalie Rishad Khan who gave a man of the match worth performance maintained his line.#Both sides were locked 0-0 at the break, Nasinu came out with some urgency in the second half knowing they had only 45 minutes to rescue themselves.#Numerous tactical changes by Nasinu coach Ravuama Madigi proved a failure. Gordon Leewai came off the bench and made a impact for Savusavu. #In the dying stages Leewai got a golden opportunity to seal the match but his shot was well judged by Zoheb Alfaaz.#Hussein says they were positive to have upset Nasinu. #“We beat Nasinu 1-0 in the first match and coming into this match we took a defensive approach having the advantage,” the Savusavu President said. #Savusavu: 22.
