This was confirmed by Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) Vice President Yogeshwar Singh on Thursday during the official pool draws at their new headquarters in Vatuwaqa. #And the Fiji FA Futsal and Beach Soccer Commission chairman said the NCC will now be played at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori from December 2-4. #Singh said this year majority of the clubs did not meet the requirements and thus their nomination was not accepted. #Super Premier association which will be missing out this year include clubs from Navua, Tavua, Nadroga, Labasa, and Ba whose club 4R Electrical are the defending NCC champions. #“If we have set a deadline (November 14) then we must abide by it. We cannot entertain clubs who finish their competition in the eleventh hour and expect to participate as that would be unfair for the other associations who had completed their league on time. #“We are left with no option but stick with the teams that meet the requirements. Associations had time right from January to complete the league,” Singh said. #This year’s event will now see an all Southern affair as the latest development saw Nadi and Lautoka clubs despite fulfilling the requirements opting out. #“Seven clubs from South and four from West met the requirements. Unfortunately the four clubs from the Western division have withdrawn sighting financial problems. They felt Fiji FA should have paid for their bus, accommodation, and other allowances or brought the event to the Western division as scheduled earlier.” #“We thought it was a very unjust request because we have more teams from the South as we stuck to the decision and told them we can’t accommodate their request which saw them withdrew,” Singh said. #The seven participating clubs have been divided into two pools.
