And the inspirational Rewa rep assured the football fans not to expect a similar blunder in the near future.#Tamanisau has been under the spotlight since the 2-1 semifinal loss to the Solomon Islands last Wednesday at the Pacific Games. #Fiji led 1-0 towards the last quarter of the match but that changed in an instant when Tamanisau rushed out of his area opting to clear the ball but failed as the opposition reached the ball first and fired into an empty Fiji net. The equaliser inspired the Solomon’s comeback and went on to pick up a 2-1 victory. #“To the fans, you won’t expect that in the next international match,” Tamanisau said. #“Everyday we make mistakes and then we have to learn from it. At the Pacific Games I have learned a lot and this will help me become a better player. I think we could we have won the match in the first half. We had five to six real good chances to wrap up the match in the first half.” #Missing out on the gold medal the Fiji senior men’s side later lost to Tahiti 2-1 in the bronze medal playoffs. #Skipper Tamanisau believes we need to begin early preparation if we are to progress in the World Cup playoffs next year.#“What’s done is done we cannot cry over spilled milk but can concentrate on the task ahead of us. I think that if we want to qualify for the third stage then we have to start preparing early. #“At the Pacific Games it goes all back to our preparation time. We did not have the best preparation and you can’t expect results if we did not prepare well but it was a learning curve. I’m sure the coaches and team management have drawn up a plan for the World Cup playoff which is the most important one,” Tamanisau said. #The senior national men’s and women’s side returned home last Sunday morning with the Fiji contingent from New Caledonia. # Fiji FA MEDIA #
