Kumar, a FIFA assistant referee badge holder was on seven heavens when his name was announced during the awards ceremony which was held at Fun World Plaza Hotel in Nadi.
“It was a very proud moment for me winning the award after a long soccer season last year. Kumar said.
Kumar who is a teacher by profession became the first Fijian to officiate at the 2012 London Olympics and FIFA Club World Cup third-fourth place playoffs last season.
He also revealed his future refereeing plans which could gain him a spot in the FIFA referees panel for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
“I am looking forward for giving my fitness test and if I am selected then I will be officiating at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
He dedicated his award to all the referees in Fiji and to all those who contributed to his success.
