Fiji FA President heads for OFC Executive meeting

Dr. Sahu Khan was re-elected during the OFC annual congress held in American Samoa earlier this year. Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar says the committee meeting will be held this Saturday. #“Our President Dr. Sahu Khan will be travelling to NZ this week to attend the OFC executive meeting whereby he will be joined by the various other members who are based around the Oceania region. It is indeed very heartily to see our President being recognized in the international scene as he was re elected in the OFC executive committee which should be a proud moment for Fiji,” Kumar said.#Dr. Sahu Khan has accepted the invitation from the NZ Fiji Football Association to be the chief guest during the opening of the first Radio Apna Fiji Cup. #In an earlier interview Dr. Sahu Khan says Fiji FA were looking ahead to maintain their relationship with the NZ Fiji FA. #“The OFC executive meeting coincides in the same week as the Radio Apna Fiji Cup. I have accepted the invitation to be the chief guest at the opening and I feel it is an honour for the country as four of our local teams (Ba, Lautoka, Nadi and Suva) will be participating. We would like to see this Fiji Cup played on annual basis as this will also give an opportunity for our former Fiji residents to get more involved with football in Fiji. #“The NZ Fiji FA has agreed in principle to assist our national teams. They assisted our U-17 side and hope for a similar support for the U-20 playoffs in April. Before the playoffs we want to spent five to six weeks in NZ preparing for the playoffs. #“The recent grant announced by FIFA we are taking a majority of that for youth development that includes the U-20 team. I have also been having meeting with a coach to be in charge of the U-20 national team. I have already discussed, seems he is very keen and all this matters I will be finalising,” Dr. Sahu Khan said. # Fiji FA MEDIA#
