4R Electric last won the club title in 2010 but was not part of the event last season to defend the silverware. #In an all Ba club showdown and on their home turf- Govind Park both sides looked equally capable of winning. #4R goalie Jone Ralulu gifted the opening goal of the match to their opponents. #GM striker Mavileko Nakama’s far post attempt was tapped out by Ralulu which found Peter Hughes who nailed the first goal on the 18th minute of the match. #4R was awarded a penalty minutes later as referee Ravitesh Behari picked up a foul on Laisenia Raura. #Skipper Jone Vesikula took charge and made no mistake.#Both sides settled for a 1-1 draw heading into the half time break. #4R dominated in the second half as first Malakai Tiwa through a free kick took the lead when GM goalie slipped the ball and then failed to gather as it rolled inside the net.#Two minutes a cross from Osea Vakatalesau found Raura who scored the third goal for his side. #4R skipper Vesikula said the experience in their side hugely contributed towards the historic victory. #“This was a good win for the 4R Electrical side. It was a tough final especially in the first half. The experience of our backs counted and we managed to stop the progress of our opponents,” Vesikula said. #“I’m pleased that the boys managed to hold on and bag this title for the 4R Electrical side. I would like to thank all the players and officials.
