Avinesh guided Lautoka during their 2-1 victory over Koloale of Solomon’s in the first round of the 2010-2011 O-League.
Lautoka head coach Gurjit Singh expects Avinesh who will fill the sweeper’s position against Amicale to be at his best.
“Avinesh is a good player and he will be able to control play well. He will feature in the sweeper’s position and this would help us counter the faster Amicale strikers,” Singh said.
Lautoka will also rely heavily on the likes of striker Valerio Nawatu, Arvindra Naidu and Matthew Mayora who scored twice against Koloale.
Defender Samuela Kautoga and Kamal Hassan make their return to the Lautoka squad and will look to prove a point after missing out on the first round.
Singh says the support from the local football fans will assist them in their effort to gain three competition points.
“We are not only playing for Lautoka but the whole country. We are urging the general public to support us. During our first away match a lot of fans came to support Koloale although they were not from that area,” he said.
The match kicks off 3pm at Govind Park. Lautoka were forced to play their home game in Ba as Churchill Park was not available.
