Dreketi crowned Northern Champions

It was a two-way battle between Dreketi and Sunquick Seaqaqa entering the third day of the Northern playoffs today. #Dreketi were held 0-0 by Sunquick Seaqaqa who later just needed a win over Skippy Nadogo to be crowned champions but that was not meant to be as Nadogo put up a strong performance to hold Seaqaqa 0-0. #The result meant that both Dreketi and Seaqaqa finish with eight points after four rounds of matches. Dreketi fancied a better goal differential which awarded them the title. #A relieved Dreketi Football Association President Ami Chand could not hold his joy back. #“We came to these playoffs with a mission to win and I’m glad that it’s Dreketi at the end of the competition. Our side had a chance to seal the playoffs earlier in the day but Seaqaqa was a good side and so we had to wait for the outcome of the last match to know our fate,” Chand said. #“Our next target is to play the promotion/relegation series against the bottom super premier side but to do that we first have to beat the Viti Levu Premier champions. We will cherish this victory here for the moment but later the boys will be back in camp as we have got some very tough weeks ahead.” #Viti Levu playoffs are expected to be completed next month.#Day Three Results#Full Time: Skippy Nadogo 0 Royal Tea Bua 0#Nadogo Cautions: Josefa Poe 34’; Ratu Tugi 60’#Bua: No Caution#9am at Subrail Park, Labasa#Full Time: Sunquick Seaqaqa 0 Puma Dreketi 0#Seaqaqa Cautions: Aisala Kina 1’; Richard Dyer 55’#Seaqaqa Sent OFF: Aisala Kina 30’#10.15am at Subrail Park, Labasa#Full Time: Royal Tea Bua- BIC Taveuni#(Default win for Bua as Taveuni did not turn up)#12.15pm at Subrail Park, Labasa#Full Time: Sunquick Seaqaqa 0 Skippy Nadogo 0#No Cautions#1.30pm at Subrail Park, Labasa# #
