Fiji Sun/Weet-Bix National Football League Update

*A spectator last Sunday during the Eveready Rewa vs. Royal Tea Nadi match at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori had to be escorted out.#Based on the referees report which we received it stated that the spectator was using abusive language and passing comments towards the Rewa team. #I as chairman of the National League Board would like to make it very clear that we will not entertain any nonsense at the venues. A lot of kids and families are at the venues enjoying the game and this sort of attitude is just a disgrace. The interests of the sponsors are also at stake. #We have already requested the districts if they could have more securities. Last year during the National League we did not have any incident of this nature and we were out to maintain that. But nevertheless this is the first incident of the season and we will work closely with the districts to see this is not repeated.#*At the council meeting the proposal put forward by the Technical Department to play the second round of the National Football after the Inter District Championship due to the heavy national team commitments was not accepted.#Districts agreed to the decision and stated that they still want to go ahead and play matches. They have stated that they will release players for national commitments. #*It is good to see that the National Football League will be back on track this week. We had four local sides travelling to New Zealand for the Radio Apna Fiji Cup and the national beach soccer side was in Tahiti for the playoffs. Now that all those commitments are over we will now continue with the matches. # # Source: Fiji FA MEDIA
