Anil Sharma, the national team director said the visiting sides will play two matches each against our men’s and women’s side. #He said, August 16th and 18th has been marked as the dates for the international tests. #After the successful series against Vanuatu last week, Sharma said they are focused on the task ahead of them. Fiji beat Vanuatu 2-0 in the first test at Subrail Park but lost the second match 1-2 at Churchill Park. #“The two test clearly shows where we stand at the moment,” Sharma said. #“A total of 20 players were tried out in the two tests which clearly showed our strength and weakness ahead of the Pacific Games. Samoa is next on our agenda as they are bringing their national men’s and women’s team at their own cost. At the moment we have chosen Ba and Suva as the ideal venue for the four international matches.”#Despite Samoa not being a power house in football Sharma, said they cannot afford to underestimate them. #“The Samoa women’s side will no doubt provide a strong challenge for our national women’s side. With all due respect to Samoa’s men’s side on paper we should pick up a victory but they are unknown to us and at the moment do not know what to expect from them,” Sharma said. #The national senior men’s squad returned to camp this past Monday at the Dr.M.S Sahu Khan National Football Academy in Ba. #National team director, said the players will be camp full time and only be released for Fiji Sun/Weet-Bix National Football League matches and upcoming Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament. #Sharma, said they will be closely monitoring the squad at the BOG. # # Fiji FA MEDIA #
