Fiji FA was entitled to the hefty sum through a joint SMS promotion for the Fiji Sun/Weet-Bix National Football League and Vodafone Fiji FACT. #Vodafone Corporate Affairs Manager Shailendra Prasad elaborated further. #“Since Vodafone took up the sponsorship of Fiji FA in 2008, our total financial contribution to Fiji FA including the sponsorship monies, SMS revenue and ticket purchases have been in excess of $430,000 over the last 3 and half years. #“This demonstrates our genuine desire and commitment to develop football to its true potential. Hundreds of youth around the country love to play football. Our intention is to work with Fiji FA to make sure the sport achieves greater heights and the benefits of soccer is passed to the deserving players and officials around the country. #“It is expected that Fiji FA will share the sum with the soccer districts as per promotion arrangements with Vodafone,” he said. #Fiji Football Association Acting President Sheik Mohammed Ibrahim, said Vodafone’s continued support has been a great driving factor in the progress of football. #“Long live Vodafone,” Ibrahim said. #“Vodafone has been a genuine partner and contributor to Fiji FA. At the time when sponsorship dollars are hard to come by, Vodafone remains a strong partner of Fiji FA.
