The veteran administrator was given the task to head the youth department during the Fiji FA board of control meeting last weekend at the National Academy in Ba. #Ibrahim said youth development was important for the further progress of football. #“Youths are our future stars,” he said.#“If football has to progress in Fiji then the best place to start is at the youth level. The youths are young, they come with a fresh mind and this gives us an opportunity to teach them about football which they will be able to adapt quickly.”#Ibrahim said a plan has already been mapped out for the new season. #“Our first task will be implemented early next year and this will include setting up development centres all around the country and reviving the ones which have been inactive.#“Plan is to setup at least three development centres per district but for example if an area like Suva is big then we will have no problem in setting up five centres. We will look for qualified coaches and development officers to be in charge of the centres whereby they will be conducting various sessions to teach the players the basics and more knowledge about football.”#Ibrahim said they will also work in conjunction with the Fiji FA “Just Play” programme. #“Early next year we will be getting more equipment which will be given to these development centres. We will also be working closely with the Just Play programme to take advantage of its initiative which has already been setup. Both combined will see a more active and progressive development centres around the country,” he said. # Fiji FA MEDIA #
