Fiji bundled out of the race for a berth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil when they failed to go past the group stage during the 2012 Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Nations cup in Solomon Islands. #New Zealand, Tahiti, New Caledonia and Solomon Islands progressed to Stage 3 of the playoffs with our national side sadly returning home. #Reddy said a lot of work needed to be done if we wanted to progress come the next playoffs. #“The whole idea behind the two test series against the visiting Play Fair Brazil team will be to give more exposure to our players. Playing against some of the former greats of football will an ideal experience for our players,” he said. #“The squad is dominated by Under 23 players who we plan to expose as much as possible at the international stage as we begin our work for the next Pacific Games and World Cup playoffs. In time to come they will step up and be ready to make us proud.” #While no other international test has been lined up for the remainder of the season, Reddy said they have mapped out a programme to utlise the time they have. #“After the Brazil test we do not have any tests lined up but we have given our work plan to the Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel. Before this season ends we will try to hold one or two #more camps,” Reddy said. #“We cannot stop as we will have to keep looking at means and ways to better our performance.”# Fiji FA MEDIA# #
