The 2012 Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League kicks off tonight at the TFL National Stadium. Below is a message from the Fiji Football Association President Rajesh Patel.
“Greetings to all
The stage is set for the kick-off of the 2012 Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League.
At one stage it seemed an impossible task to start this year’s competition with the recent flooding and adverse weather conditions.
Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) sympathises with those affected and we pray for their quick recovery.
Having said that I would to thank the CJ Patel Group our major sponsors for their sponosrhip which is now entering into its third year.
Without sponsors running a competition like the Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League would be an impossible task but thanks to these wonderful corporate citizens we can be rest assured that there are concerned stakeholders who will lend a helping hand to see football progress in Fiji.
On behalf of the Fiji FA family I would like to thank our sponsors and humbly hope that CJ Patel Group will be with us for the many more years to come.

The 2012 Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League is all set to start and I would like to wish the participating teams the best of luck.
Ba has had the league title in their grasp for the past two years. It will be interesting to see whether any other side would step up the mark to become the national champions of Fiji.
To the team officials and players there is no doubt that a lot of hard work and effort is put in every week. At times when things do not go according to plan, frustrations and anger seem to take over. My only humble request is for teams to show true sportsmanship and learn to accept defeat.
