And it was none other than striker Maciu Dunadamu who proved to be the hero for Labasa as his lone second half goal guided them to a close 1-0 victory over Ba in the Courts IDC final on Sunday at the TFL National Stadium in Suva. #Having served a two match suspension, Dunadamu made the starting lineup in the final. His timely return proved worthy for the Labasa fans that had turned out in numbers to cheer their side to victory. #“I dedicated this goal and victory to my family, all the fans from Vanua Levu and people I let down because of my suspension,” Dunadamu said. #Labasa who are commonly known as the Babasiga Lions bundled out defending champion Rewa during the last round of pool matches to setup a semifinal clash against Lautoka. #A goal by Roy Krishna from a penalty rebound was enough for Labasa to pick up a 1-0 win over Lautoka to progress to the final. Krishna was later named the player of the tournament. #Finalists Ba and Labasa had earlier clashed at the round robin stage, only to end the match with a 2-2 score line. #A bumper crowd turned to witness the final. Both sides had equal number of opportunities to score but Dunadamu in the 50th minute raced with the ball near the Ba box and fired a powerful shot which found the top left hand side of the goal.# Labasa coach Gurjit Singh who in the past had guided a side like Navua to IDC glory revealed the winning formula. #“It was unity and team work which guided us in the final. A lot of people stressed that Labasa players did not have the right attitude and discipline. The boys over the last few weeks had stayed together as a team and today they played as a team to win,” he said. #Ajesh Sharma , the Labasa FA President had taken up the role earlier this year promising their fans for a major title this season. # “I’m proud to say that we have done something for the people of Labasa. Fans have been waiting for a very long time for this. I would like to thank my boys who gave their hundred perecent to see us win the IDC.” #Ba President Rishi Kumar applauded the Labasa side. #“Our boys played well in the final but at the end of the day Labasa was a better side. Labasa has won the IDC after seventeen years and the jubilation speaks for itself.”#Premier Division #Lami win Premier title #Lami are the new Courts Inter District Premier Division champion following their 3-1 victory over Tailevu Naitasiri on Sunday at TFL National Stadium in Suva. #Three first half goals was enough to seal a victory for Lami and dethrone defending champion Tailevu Naitasiri from a successful defence of their title. #Super Premier#Super Premier Final #Full Time: Labasa 1 Ba 0#Labasa Goal: Maciu Dunadamu 50’#Labasa Caution; Samuela Kautoga 4’#Ba Cautions: Ronil Kumar 35’; Kiniviliame Naika 44’#4.30pm at TFL National Stadium in Suva#Premier Division Final #Full Time: Lami 3 Tailevu Naitasiri 1#Lami Goals: Marlon Maemania 2’; Mangi Oro 6’; Navinesh Chand 16”#Lami Caution: Marlon Maemania 25’#Tailevu Naitasiri Goal: Shelveen Prasad 57’#Tailevu Naitasiri Caution: Praney Reddy 6’#3pm at TFL National Stadium, Suva#Semi Final 1#Full Time: Labasa 1 Lautoka 0#Labasa Goal: Roy Krishna 51’#Labasa Caution: Kavaia Rawaqa 25’#Lautoka Cautions: Valerio Nawatu 37’, 54’; Peni Finau 41’#Lautoka Sent OFF: Valerio Nawatu 54’#9am TFL National Stadium Suva#Semifinal 2#Full Time: Ba 1 Suva 0#Ba Goal: Malakai Tiwa 37’#Ba Caution: Ronil Kumar 62’#Suva Cautions: Samuela Vula 29’; Esava Samudere 34’; Apisai Smith 44’#10.30am at TFL National Stadium in Suva#Premier Semifinal#Full Time: Lami 2 Nasinu 1#Lami Goals: Navinesh Chand 30+; Sarwesh Prasad 55’#Lami Caution: Inia Boko 60+#Nasinu Goal: Rahul Chaudhary 17’#Nasinu Caution: Edwin Shayam 60+#9am at Buckhurst Park, Suva#Premier Semifinal 2#Full Time: Tailevu Naitasiri 3 Dreketi 0#Tailevu Naitasiri Goals: Ratu Luke 35’; Shelveen Prasad 52’; Hoteshwar Padarath 55’#Dreketi Cautions: Mahendra Lal 30’; Ajesh Prasad 53’#10.30am at Buckhurst Park, Suva #
