Eight of Oceania regions top teams will participate from June 1-10 and only four will progress to Stage 3. #Our national senior men’s side has been seeded in a tough Group B alongside host Solomon’s, New Zealand “All Whites” and Papua New Guinea. #The ultimate target for our national side will be to qualify for the semifinals which will earn them a berth for Stage 3. #Fiji faces an uphill battle in our opening clash against NZ this Saturday 1pm (Fiji Time).#National team director/Fiji Football association vice president Taranesh Reddy says their entire focus during their preparation was on rivals NZ. #“Our toughest game in the group is against NZ,” he said. #“Heading into the Nations Cup we are not thinking ahead but our entire focus in on NZ. Following that clash we will not where we stand. We will take each game as it comes and then plan respectively.”#Reddy said the weather in Solomon’s could be an advantage for our national side. #“The match against NZ is at midday in Solomons and the weather would suit us more but at the end of the day NZ is a quality side and we cannot afford to underestimate them.
