Presidents Corner

The new season brings about a lot of positive things for Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA). I would like to welcome you back as we start with the first issue of the Fiji Football news in the 2013 season. #FijiFOOT#I’m proud to say that Fiji FA now has their own half hour football shows which will premier this Friday from 7pm on FBC TV. #A lot of hard work and time consuming factors were involved but in the end we have achieved our goal. #FijiFOOT will promote Fiji FA events, tournaments and grassroots programme. Our promise is to bring fans the best of football has to offer in Fiji. #FijiFOOT was made possible through the support of Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) which provided the equipment’s and training. #On this note I would like to thank Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) chief executive officer Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum. #Through his kind gesture we will be able to air our show on free to air which no doubt will reach homes around Fiji. #FBC TV has joined hands with Fiji FA to make this possible and we are looking forward to working with our new partners. #Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League#The 2013 Fiji Sun GP Batteries National Football League kicked off last weekend on a high note. A bumper crowd turned out to witness the first round and we hope for a similar support in the coming weeks. #Thank you to CJ Patel Group especially General Manager Mr. Pranil Singh and Marketing Director Nathan Hildebrand. A special thanks to Mr. Peter Lomas the Fiji Sun Publisher/Chief executive officer. #With all venues hosting double headers it indeed proved to be a worthy move. Each participating district side will take an equal share of the income which will assist them in #preparation for the remainder of the league. #With few matches played in the U21 division an exciting season awaits us as we see upcoming stars in action. #CVC#The final leg of the Pillay Garment Champion versus Champion series between Ba and Suva at the moment has been set for Churchill Park in Lautoka tentatively on Monday January 28, 2013. #
