FijiFOOT will premiere on FBC TV on January 18, 2013 at 7.30pm. #This announcement was made during the official signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Fiji FA and FBC last Thursday in Suva. #FijiFOOT which is produced by the Fiji FA will feature football highlights and activities. Fiji FA also announced that FBC TV is also their new Official Television station on free to air. #Fiji FA senior vice president Sheik Ibrahim said this was yet another milestone achievement for the national football body. #“Two seasons ago we launched the Fiji Football News and we are now ready to host our own television show. This will be a huge boost for football in the country and I would like to thank FBC TV for making our long term plan a reality,” he said. #“The wide FBC TV coverage itself is a bonus and we will be taking the show to the every home.”#FBC chief executive Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the company believes in sports as a nation building tool.#“Any sport that FBC is involved with, we try and do our best to promote it as much as possible. Because at the end of the day sports as you know is a great thing, it’s good for any country and brings people together and keeps people fit and we want to be involved with something that is positive,” he said. #Fiji FOOT was made possible through the support of Oceania Football Confederation which under their funding provided the television equipments and training as it plans to develop a television department in all their member associations. #FijiFoot is based on the same model already used in other parts of the Pacific, such as FenuaFoot in Tahiti, VanuaFoot in Vanuatu and TonFoot in Tonga.#Fiji FA MEDIA# #
