Fiji Football Association vice president Shiek Ibrahim was the chief guest at the official opening to address the teams participating in the competition. #Ibrahim told the importance of local league as the teams are the backbone for the district teams. #“Players should play well for their respective teams as the player in the district teams are selected from the local clubs and represent the district teams,” Ibrahim said.#National League board boss also reminded the teams that development begins at home to see the development of football in the country.#“Local League competition is very important because that is the place where the players are trained and developed to play their heart out for their teams and the country.” #Suva FA president Mahen Prasad was over whelmed with the support shown by the teams and the players. #“We have started the season on a high this year and the support shown by the teams is very good and it is a good sign for the development of football in the district,” Prasad said. #Fiji’s biggest football district Suva has made some of the positive changes in the competition. Suva will be giving awards to the players at the end of the season. #“We will be giving awards in the various categories to the players and officials for their contribution and hard work. We will be awards to the best goal keeper, best coach, player and administrator.” Prasad enthused. #
