Preview- Round One

First Round- Sunday July 22, 2012 at Subrail Park in Labasa#Preview#9am Suva vs. Nadi# #Capital side Suva will be put to the test in their opening clash against Nadi this Sunday during the opening round of the 2012 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament at Subrail Park. #The two sides kick off the second major tournament of the season and both will be out for a positive start. #As Vodafone Fiji FACT champions the expectation will be high amongest the Suva fans for their side to perform but Nadi with their recent success in the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League will not go down without a fight. #The scenario has changed as unlike the FACT matches all clashes will be 90 minutes.#Both sides have the luxury of quality players who know what to expect and how to get the job done. Overall this clash should mark a perfect opening for the 2012 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants. #11am Ba vs. Nadroga#Nadroga may be struggling in the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League but when it comes to tournaments they are an unpredictable side. #Last year during the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants Nadroga upset Ba 1-0 at the National Stadium in Suva during the first round. #Both sides lock horns in their opening pool match when the first round takes place at Subrail Park this Sunday. #Having being edged out by Suva in the Vodafone Fiji FACT final at home, Ba will look for a blistering start to their campaign. #Ba last won any of three major tournaments in 2010 and since then have only held on to the league title and won the Pillay Garments Champions League title earlier this year. #Nadroga on the other hand has nothing to lose but to go out there and give their best hoping for a major upset. With most of their key players withdrawing their request the Stallions would no doubt be in full force. #1pm Lautoka vs. Navua#On paper Lautoka should earn three crucial points from this Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants clash. #Losing a number of their key players Navua has not at the winning end this season but introduction of some new talents sees them an upcoming side in the local scene. #Navua players need to step up and play to the best of the ability in order to counter their opponents which will be at their best for the clash. #Lautoka has a talented squad which is capable of winning the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament. #It will be interesting to see how Lautoka will approach this year’s event after missing out on the Vodafone Fiji FACT title. #With the recent transfer and registration window, teams have injected new players in their squad and only time will tell on the outcome of the first round this Sunday. #3pm Labasa vs. Rewa#The biggest ask of the first round of the 2012 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament will be on the Labasa side. #It will be a joyful day for the football fans in the Vanua Levu as they long wait to see a major tournament at Subrail Park is over now. #With the joy there will be huge expectations from the Northern fans to see their side upset defending Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants champion Rewa this Sunday. #Returning stars Pita Bolaitga, Maciu Dunadamu, Ilaitia Tuilau and Taniela Waqa have made the Lions stronger. #Having beaten Ba 1-0 a fortnight ago, Labasa will be out to repeat the same success which saw them win the 2011 Courts Inter District Championship. #The Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants remains the only major silverware in the cabinet of Rewa. #This no doubt will be an inspiration for Rewa to work overtime to defend their title. Rewa is in a tough pool and cannot afford to lose points ahead of the remainder of the tournament at Churchill Park in Lautoka. #This Sunday Rewa will be up against a determined Labasa side and their fans that no doubt will be vocal. #2012 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants #Super Premier#Pool One: Rewa, Ba, Nadroga, Labasa#Pool Two: Lautoka, Nadi, Navua, Suva#Premier#Pool One: Rakiraki, Nasinu, Tailevu Naitasiri#Pool Two: Vatukoula, Taveuni, Lami#Fixtures#July 22, 2012 #Sunday at Subrail Park, Labasa #9.00am Suva vs Nadi (P2)#11.00am Ba vs Nadroga (P1)#1.00pm Lautoka vs Navua (P2)#3.00pm Labasa vs Rewa (P1)#July 26, 2012#Thursday at Churchill Park, Lautoka#2.00pm Navua vs Suva (P2)#4.00pm Nadroga vs Labasa (P1)#6.00pm Official Opening #6.30pm Rewa vs Ba (P1)#8.30pm Lautoka vs Nadi (P2)#July 27, 2012 #Friday at Churchill Park, Lautoka #10.00am Rakiraki vs T/Naitasiri (A)#11.15am Vatukoula vs Lami (B)#1.00pm Rewa vs Nadroga (P1)#3.00pm Nadi vs Navua (P2)#5.00pm Rakiraki vs Nasinu (A)#6.30pm Labasa vs Ba (P1)#8.30pm Suva vs Lautoka (P2)#July 28, 2012 #Saturday at Churchill Park, Lautoka#12noon Vatukoula vs Taveuni (B)#1.30pm Nasinu vs T/Naitasiri (A)#Semi Final- Super Premier#3.00pm Winner (P1) vs Runner/up (P2)#5.00pm Winner (P2) vs Runner/up (P1) #7.00pm Taveuni vs Lami (B)#July 29, 2012#Sunday at Churchill Park, Lautoka #11.00am Premier Final Winner A vs Winner B #12.30pm Super Premier 3rd/4th place #3.00pn Super Premier Final #5.00pm Presentations #Ticket Prices: #Subrail Park, Labasa (July 22, 2012)#Pav A: Adult $12; Child $5#Other Pav: Adult $10; Child $3#Embankment: Adult $6; Child $2 #Churchill Park, Lautoka (July 26-29, 2012)#Pav A: Adult $15; Child $5#Pav B: Adult $10; Child $4#Pav C: Adult $8; Child $3#Embankment: Adult $6;Child $2#
