Play Fair Brazil Tour to Fiji Confirmed

The Edge Management Group (EMG) in partnership with US based Adventure Management Group is organising in bringing the Play Fair Brazil team to Fiji from August 23-25, 2012.
The visitors will play two test matches against our national senior side Thursday August 23 5pm at Prince Charles Park in Nadi and 3pm on Saturday August 25, 2012 at Govind Park in Ba.
EMG events manager Tomasi Tiko says former Brazil national team rep Paulo Sergio who was part of the Brazilian winning 1994 FIFA World Cup in USA will captain the side.
He said other players with the likes of Ze Carlos known as Jose Carlos de Almeida and Giovanni S. de Oliveira better known as Giovanni
He said negotiations to get Marcos Moraes or better known as ‘Cafu’ the most capped Brazilian National team player was continuing.
“The team is made up of high profile footballers and also new and upcoming players who are trying to break into the Brazil national team,” he said.
“Part of the tour is also for goodwill practice and assists to raise the competitive levels of football in the country. The Play Fair Brazil team previous tour was in Ugenda, Kenya, South Africa, Singapore and Malaysia.”
Fiji FA competitions manager Jainendra Sukhu said this was once in a lifetime opportunity for the local fans to witness a Brazilian side.
“Opportunities to witness some of the legends of football do not come every day for a country like Fiji. Everyone knows what Brazilian football is all about and our fans will see our national side in action against some high profile players.”
Besides the two match series the Play Fair Brazil team will conduct some community youth coaching clinics.
The MOU for the two-match tour will be signed next week.
