They are New Zealand based Peter O’Ileary who officiated at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, Justin Namo (Solomons) and women’s football assistant referee Lata Tuifutuna (Tonga).#Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) referees director Chandra Segran says the trio along with local referees Ravinesh Kumar and Finau Vulivuli will be officiating at the upcoming FIFA events. #Segran said this was part of Oceania Football Confederations (OFC) arrangement to use the Vodafone Fiji FACT as a training ground for the upcoming FIFA events. # “The three referees from NZ, Tonga and Solomons will join us during the Fiji FACT. This is in preparation for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and FIFA Under-20 World Cup,” he said. #“Our local referee Ravinesh Kumar will be officiating at the U20 World Cup and Finau Vulivuli at the Women’s World Cup in Germany. The Fiji FACT will provide a good preparation ground for all OFC referees heading for the FIFA events.”#Looking at the referee’s panel for the 2011 Vodafone Fiji FACT, Segran says a list of 19 names was released earlier today along with the OFC referees. #The Fiji FA referees director says six assessors have also been named along with the 19 referees.#“The referees went through a fitness test to be selected. The Fiji FACT is going to be an exciting tournament and it is a chance especially for the young referees to get exposed to top level competition.
