Dr. Hari Kewal the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) senior vice-president says while the super premier division teams prepare for the Vodafone Fiji FACT, the Southern Premier division competition would continue. #“The super premier sides have been given this weekend off to prepare for the Vodafone Fiji FACT which will start next Thursday. The league is scheduled to begin after the Fiji FACT tournament,” he said.#“The Southern premier division competition will continue as our plan is to complete their matches on time.” #Following the last round of the national league Energizer 4R Electrical Ba is now just one point behind leaders Puma Labasa. Ba beat Eveready Airpro Rewa 3-0 last Saturday at Govind Park. #The presence of Solomon Islander James Naka failed to spark the delta tigers as young Daniel Krishneel scored Ba’s first goal in the 33rd minute. #Men in Black were reduced to 10-men as referee Andrew Achari gave the marching orders to Kiniviliame Naika seconds before the half time whistle. #Rewa could not take advantage and later faced a similar situation as Menuasi Senibuli was sent off for his second caution which came about in the 54th minute. #Laisenia Raura scored Ba’s second and seven minutes from full time Peter Hughes got the third which ended Rewa’s afternoon. #Ba is now with 27 points on second place on the overall league standings. Leaders Labasa who are not in action this weekend maintain top spot with 28 points. #The win no doubt sends out a strong message that Ba is out to defend their Vodafone Fiji FACT title. #They are in tough pool one with Rewa, Navua, Tavua and Labasa. A fortnight ago Ba beat Navua 1-0 and Saturdays 3-0 victory over Rewa sees them topple two of their Fiji FACT opponents already.#In other results Weet-Bix Shop N Save Lautoka and Royal Tea Nadi claimed close victories last Sunday.#A 71st minute goal by former national Under-20 striker Abbu Zahid gave Lautoka a 1-0 victory over Sunquick Sigatoka Motor Spares Nadroga at Churchill Park. #At Prince Charles Park home side Royal Tea Nadi had to work hard for a 1-0 win over Angel Mackerel Tavua.
