This decision was reached during the Southern Premier division meeting held last Sunday at Vunimono High School.#National Football League board chairman Dr. Hari Kewal says the first round of matches will kick off on May 1st 2011and that Tailevu Naitasiri, Tailevu North, Nasinu, Lami and Levuka districts will be part of the Southern Premier division competition this year.#“The whole purpose of this meeting was to come here and discuss with the district officials on how they wanted to play their competition. I’m pleased to say that a decision was reached at the meeting whereby district officials have agreed to play a League format on a home and away basis.#“We have drawn up the fixtures and competition will start on May 1st 2011. It has also been decided that the League board will accommodate half of Levuka‘s expenses when they travel to play two matches here,” Dr. Kewal said.#The National League board chairman adds that a proposal has been put forward by the Southern Premier division officials to allocate them two spots for the second stage playoffs.#“Due to the increase in the number of teams in the Southern competition, the officials have proposed for the winner and runner up from their league to qualify for the next stage. They have also proposed to include two teams from the Northern division only if they play on a home-away basis and one qualifier from the Western division.”#Dr. Kewal says similar meeting will be held next in the Western and Northern division to decide on which format they opt for.#He adds that the proposal put forward by the Southern division officials will be discussed with the Western and Northern officials.# Fiji FA MEDIA
