The Futsal Commission led by Chairman Mr. Anil Sharma met this afternoon at Fiji Football Association headquarters in Suva. Mr. Sharma has backed the side to perform well at the Futsal Championship which will be played at the Vodafone Arena in Suva from August 8-14.# “I have been very impressed with reports that I have received from coach, manager and the Technical Director. I think this is the best squad we could have assembled provided the players that turned up for the camp,” Mr. Sharma said. #The likes of Osea Vakatalesau (Lautoka), Alvin Avinesh (Lautoka), Arvindra Naidu (Lautoka), Benaminio Mateinaqara (Navua) and Emori Ragata (Suva) who failed to turn up to week long trials have been axed.#“I think it there individual choice and maybe they prefer 11-a-side to Futsal,” Mr. Sharma said. #Labasa trio Roy Krishna, Ajesh Narayan and Sandeep Nair with Lautoka striker have forced their way in the squad.#National U-20 players Ilisoni Logaivau and Thakur Narayan have been named alongside Ba rep Petero Dauniseka. The trio attended the trials earlier today.#“I thank the U-20 players who have turned up. Most of the players in the initial squad did not turn up so we had to call them.
