Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) chief executive officer Bob Kumar was the chief guest at the opening. Suva Football Association (Suva FA) boss Mahend Prasad who heads the SYFA was also present.#The SYFA was affiliated to Suva FA last month with the following elected as officials: President: Mahen Prasad (also the Suva Football Association President), Secretary: Shalend Chandra, Youth Manager: Faizal Sharif and Co-ordinator: Vikash Nair.#During his address the Fiji FA complimented the organizers for taking this initiative to develop football at grassroots level. #“The Suva FA and their youth association are commended for taking this initiative and putting together a structure of youth competition. It takes a lot of hard work to prepare and organise a competition of this nature. Everyone involved in this new venture needs to be compliment for their effort. #“Youth Football is an essential part of the long term plan for the development of youth players.
