The OneWorld Flight Centre sponsored Fiji FA awards will be held on February 25, 2012 in Suva. #The nominees are as follows: #1. Roy Krishna (Waitakere United, NZ ; Labasa )#Waitakere and top Labasa striker played a huge role in the Babasiga Lions triumph at the 2011 Courts Inter District Championship. Missed most of the 2011 season due to injury but recovered in time for national commitments during the test series against Samoa and Vanuatu. Was a vital member of the national men’s side during the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia. #2. Jone Salauneune (Tavua)#Young Tavua striker Jone Salauneune these days is in demand. Salauneune made his mark for Tavua last season and scored some memorable goals during the Fiji Sun/Weet-Bix National Football League and major tournaments. He was also highly rated for his performance in the national U20 side during the Oceania playoffs last year. #3. Simione Tamanisau (Rewa)#Inspirational goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau led the national men’s at the Pacific Games and Rewa side to consecutive victories in the Pillay Garments Champions League, Vodafone Fiji FACT and Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants. #4. Eran Underwood (Nadroga)#Nadroga striker Eran Underwood made his debut for the national senior and futsal side in the 2011 season. Earned his right as one of the top strikers in the country after his performance at the 2011 Vodafone Fiji FACT. #5. Avinesh Waran Suwamy (Ba)#Whether the O-league, Pacific Games or any other local tournament, lethal Ba right back Avinesh Waran Suwamy is one of the most marked man on the field. The deadly finisher who is also a crowd favourite lived up to his expectations and prominently featured for the Ba side in the 2011 season. #6. Priya Singh (Suva Women’s)#Is regarded as a match winner for her many memorable goals which has guided her sides to victories in the dying stages. Who can forget her winning goal against Labasa that earned Suva the Women’s IDC title in 2010. Out of gold medal race Fiji featured in the bronze medal playoffs at the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia. Having lost to Tonga 4-1 during pool play it seemed Fiji women’s were headed for yet another defeat but Singh had other ideas as she her 40 yarder attempt saw Fiji Women’s return home with the bronze medal. # #
