League board meeting update#The league board meeting last Saturday at the National Football Academy in Ba was a very fruitful one. #I think this is the first time that I have seen districts cooperate in such a nice manner.#The eight team league format has been given a green light and districts have agreed that after this 2012-2013 season two teams will be automatically demoted. #This has been given the green light by the members and come 2013-2014 season we will see eight teams in the super premier division. #This is something positive for Fiji FA. We have been trying to do this and now the districts have realised that most of them have gate taking problems and lack a good fan base. #They have realised that we have to work together to get more fans and if this happens everyone will benefit and football will be the winner at the end of the day. #It has been approved that in the new season two to three matches will be held at each venue. #It was nice gesture by the bigger teams that have decided that if four teams are playing at a venue then after the Fiji FA league board shares and match expenses the takings will be shared four ways equally. #This will help the smaller districts develop.#Overall this will improve our league standard and help districts further develop. #The eight team format will be passed in the special congress which will take place early next year. #The fixtures for the 2012-2013 Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League have been confirmed and I’m also proud to say that CJ Patel Group of Companies have agreed to continue with their sponsorship. # #
