New Zealand based Roy Krishna produced a man of the match performance and scored a crucial goal just seconds away from the half time whistle to upset defending champions Rewa 1-0. #Solomon Islander George Lui failed to clear a wide cross in the Rewa box. Krishna was at the right place to fire a wide shot which Rewa skipper and goalie had no chance of stopping. #Krishna kept the Rewa defence busy all night and also had a strong defensive game. Labasa dominated the match but Rewa also had their moments. Solomon Islander James #Naka had the best chance of the night to pull out a goal for Rewa but his attempt went wide. #Rewa was reduced to 10 men in the dying stages of the match.#Tamanisau had left his area to move upfront to act as an extra man in attack but it backfired as Labasa intercepted a pass, Sandeep Nair found himself in the clear with an empty goal mouth which was just 40 yards away and only Posiano Kalisito to beat.#Kalisito commited a foul for which he conceded his second yellow card and was sent off by referee Andrew Achari. #The close 1-0 over Rewa marked the Lions third victory in a row at the 2011 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament which is being played at the Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. #Labasa faces Ba in their last pool encounter on Saturday, even with a loss Labasa should make it through with their nine points from three wins. #Rewa is scheduled to play two matches on Day Four, 12.30pm against Nadroga and later Lautoka 5.45pm. If the defending champions win both matches they will be on equal points with Labasa. #Should Rewa lose one of the two matches then the spot for the second qualifier from pool one springs wide open for Lautoka and Ba. #Energizer Ba and Weet-Bix Lautoka still have slim hopes of making the playoffs on Sunday. Both picked up crucial victories on Friday as Lautoka edged Nadroga 1-0 and later Ba beat Lautoka 3-1. #Jone Vono Junior who scored the winning goal against Nadroga was hoping for a similar fate against Ba when he scored on the 20th minute. #The wounded Ba side regrouped and scored three unanswered goals. First Aisea Codro, then Malakai Tiwa and later Peter Hughes. #Lautoka has no one else but themselves to blame as a win over Ba could have given them an advantage heading into the last round of pool matches. #Full Time: Energizer Ba 3 Weet-Bix Lautoka 1#Ba Goals: Aisea Codro 22”; Malakai Tiwa 37”; Peter Highes 51”#Ba Caution: Malakai Kanihewe 23’#Lautoka Goal: Jone Vono Junior 20”#Lautoka Caution: Shameel Rao 8’#7.15pm Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori#Full Time: Skippy Labasa 1 Viva Rewa 0#Labasa Goal: Roy Krishna 30”#Labasa Caution: Samuela Kautoga 17’#Rewa Caution: Ratu Veresa Toma 2’; Posiano Kalisito 47’; Misaele Draunibaka 20’#Rewa Sent OFF: Posiano Kalisito 60’ #8.30pm Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori #
