At the TFL National Stadium Navua put up a strong second half performance to upset home side Bic Power Electric Suva 2-0. #Skipper Lorima Dau and super-sub Sheik Moshin scored in the last quarter of the match to get Navua’s national football league campaign back on track. #Their manager Gopal Naidu says the match was an opportune time to test their various combinations as the Southern-based side prepares for the 2011 Vodafone Fiji FACT. #“It was a good win and I would like to thank the players. We are using the national league as a build up to the Fiji FACT and today we had an opportunity to test our various combinations. To see how players were coping in different positions,” Naidu said. #Suva had the better of both sides in the first spell but failed to find the back of the net. Later in the second half striker Maciu Tuilau probably had the best chance to give Suva the lead by his shot was well blocked by Navua goal keeper Benaminio Mateinaqara. #In another match Lautoka thumped the Skippy Western Under-23 side 5-0 at Churchill Park. Former national U20 striker Abbu Zahid and Nigerian Sanni Issa scored a brace of goals. Noa Vukica who was also part of the recent national U20 side also got his name on the score sheet. #The Western U23 side has now lost their second match in a space of five days.
