Tefana next for Ba

Ba went down 0-4 to New Zealand based Waitakere United last Sunday at Fred Taylor Park in an all important clash.
A victory would have seen the Western giants top Group A, but the former O-League champions took advantage of a 10-man Ba side and netted in four unanswered goals in the second half to seal an important victory.
Stunned by defeat Ba travels to Tahiti to play their last match of the first round against AS Tefana next Saturday December 3, 2011 where a win will see them maintain their second place in the Group A.
Despite the loss, Ba still has a chance to qualify for the O-League final provided they win their remaining four matches and add up a good average to topple Waitakere if both sides are equal on points following the round robin.
Waitakere in just two matches have scored 14 goals compared to Ba’s two.
The second round of the O-League kicks off next year which will see Ba travel to New Caledonia first up to face AS Mont- Dore in the return leg before hosting Waitakere and AS Tefana at Govind Park.
Tough defender Alvin Singh in an interview with oceaniafootballconfederation.com said they failed to make the most of their opportunities.
“I thought it was quite a good performance, especially in the first half,” he said.
“We had our chances but didn’t make the most of them. And then in the second half we were down to ten men which made it difficult. There were a huge number of supporters here for us and it was really nice to see them come out and get behind us. It was a big boost but unfortunately we couldn’t give them the result they wanted.”
