Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) Acting Chief Executive Officer Jainendra Sukhu, said the Fiji Immigration department has notified them.
“The Fiji immigration department had a meeting with us today. They want a list of foreign players playing football in the country at the moment,” Sukhu said.
“The immigration department has informed us that players without a business visa will not be allowed to participate and will need to go back to apply again.”
Sukhu said, the immigration department so far has picked out Rewa rep Sanni Issa who fails to meet their requirement.
Issa is highly likely now to miss the 2011 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament which starts this Sunday at TFL National Stadium in Suva. Tournament proper begins next Thursday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
“Sanni has been in Fiji and playing for Lautoka and now Rewa. He will now need to go back and re apply again. Based on the current situation he will not be able to participate at the 2011 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament and he will need to leave the country and apply again for a visa,” he said.
