Juan Carlos Buzzetti, the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) national coaching director believes this outing was a huge boost towards their campaign for the 2013 Oceania Football Confederation Under 20 World Cup playoffs which starts next Thursday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
Buzzetti added that the Fiji U20 side was in their final phase of preparation.
“The team will play their last friendly match against Lautoka this Sunday and that will wrap up our preparation,” Buzzetti said.
“Then the next step will be finalise our 20-member squad and then focus on the task. We are pleased with the outing against Amicale. If we had lost we still would be proud of the exposure playing an experience outfit.”
Fiji, New Zealand, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Papua New Guinea will be part of the regional meet next week.
Teams are expected to start arriving from next week.
