Presidents Corner

Greetings to all
Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League
This year’s Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League is one of very evenly contested seasons of all times. At this stage it is not a one or two way race but the competition is still wide open.
Tavua, Suva followed by Rewa, then Lautoka, Ba and now Nadi have all claimed top spot.
This is indeed healthy for Fiji Football Association as it gives more mileage to our sponsor and at the same time positive as far as our development is concerned. The start of the Under 21-league has also given a chance for many young stars to break into their senior district sides.
I would like to thank the district officials and players for their hard work put in the numerous weeks to see the 2012 Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League maintain its success.
Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants
The first round of the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants is shaping up to be a perfect opening for the second major tournament of the 2012 season.
Labasa is back to full strength and with the 1-0 win over Ba this is sure to excite the Labasa fans. With the talent full squad in place Labasa can now be considered as a contender for the Inkk Battle of the Giants title and as for the first round of matches we urge the Northern fans to come out in numbers at Subrail Park.
Courts Inter District Championship
I would like to confirm that the 2012 Courts Inter District Championship will be played over 60 minutes with the ten participating teams.
As for the IDC the Fiji Football Association board felt that the tradition of the oldest tournament needed to be maintained.
IDC will be held in Ba and with the calls we have been receiving we can expect a lot of fans from overseas to turn up for the last tournament of the season.
U20
The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Under 20 playoffs will be held next year and our preparation has already been mapped out. The technical department led by Farouk Janeman and coaching director Juan Carlos Buzzetti with the help of other coaches will be conducting trials around the country.
Our aim is to field the best of what we have available in a bid to do well at the playoffs.
Fiji Football Association will also be trying to convince OFC to select us as the host.
