Weather takes it toll on IDC

And the Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) board of control has decided that the Super Premier finals will now be played next Sunday in Suva since we will not be able to accomdate all the matches in the remaining three days of the competition.
Bob Kumar the Fiji FA Chief Executive Officer, said the Courts IDC fixtures has been revised.
“All Super Premier matches scheduled for Saturday will now be played on Sunday and then Sunday’s match will be played on Monday. The finals will be played next Sunday,” Kumar said.
“The recent adverse weather conditions have really affected the ground condition and at the end of the day, player’s welfare is of a concern as well.”
Few Premier and Secondary schools will be played on Saturday at Corpus Christy grounds as the Bidesi and Buckhurst Park are also not in good condition.
Only two Super Premier matches were played on day two. Labasa thumped Savusavu 6-0 while Navua and Lautoka played to a 0-0 draw.
Following the second match the weather got worse and a 30 minute delay followed to assess the situation.
Referess inspected the ground and condition and thus the remaining day two matches were called off. These matches will be played on Saturday at the TFL National Stadium.
Suva takes on Nadroga at 3pm and later Rewa battles Ba at 4.30pm on Saturday.
Fiji FA also announced that patrons who present a day twon ticket will gain free entry on Saturday.
